Oh Dear God...

... Please help me.
After looking at some Tiger & Bunny cosplayers on DA and then being pointed to a costume/prop replica forum, I have gotten it into my head to make a Bunny costume. Not just any one, though. No, Barnaby's civilian outfit was not good enough for me. I got it into my head to do his POWERSUIT!
Holy cow, why can't I dream small?
At first I was thinking about using sheet styrene and forming it to shape via a heat gun which might have worked but then I got to looking at a picture of a Tiger helmet someone did. It was paper craft, something that didn't dawn on me, and resulted in the site my friend steered me towards. While the Tiger helmet was just straight paper, it looked like, the people on the forum start with the paper craft item as the base and then use various forms of resins and whatnot to complete them.
And thus the OMGTOOBIGPROJECTOFDOOM!!!!! was born.
Anyhow, this along with the Victorian/Steampunk Harley costume will be my first trip down Cosplay Lane. Wish me luck.

After entirely too long, I've felt like drawing again. I totally blame my friend David for it. Working on a picture now. Hope to get it done soon. Won't color it though, most likely. Will see.

Up and Coming Projects

1) Make lightsaber hilt.
Talked to Rowdy about this today. Where we lack some of the equipment to make it (mainly the metal lathe) and he lacks the know-how to use said equipment (see aforementioned lathe), he has access to both a lathe and someone who knows how to use it so that should one less thing to worry about. Will be calling around to the various home improvement places to get a feel for prices. The site quoted a price of somewhere around $15 for a one foot length of chrome pipe with an outer diameter of 1 and 1/4s inches but might see if we can find something cheaper to use at first so we can practice with that before using anything expensive.
Need to do - Make list of what I need, try to get a better concept drawing made for Rowdy, start gathering materials.
By when - No deadline.
2) Make Sith 'cosplay' outfit.
After finding a killer pair of boots on the Hot Topics site, I decided that I should make a costume for 'cosplay' (in quotes since I'm still not really sure how I feel about the whole cosplay thing, quite yet) based on my Sith character. I debated trying to find different parts and pieces online but since we're making my hilt, why not go the whole nine yards where we're able. Should be cheaper in the long run and it'll leave me with a bigger sense of satisfaction, in the long run. I got some basic ideas in my head right now but they'll be expanded upon as I get stuff fleshed out in my head and get the description written up.
Need to do - Gather fabrics, buy a decent sewing machine, learn how to sew and make patterns, collect accessories, buy boots.
By when - No deadline.
Of course, as I get more ideas and as progress begins I'll post here.

Just wanted to say hello, get myself known to the community. This is actually my second DA account - I am also known as AnnaKitfox here but decided to make a new account since I am broadening my scope of art (hopefully!) and will be trying to learn how to use my Wacom tablet as well as how to use the markers and colored pencils I have. Will be trying to focus on sci-fi art here but fantasy art and the like will be put on my other DA site. Scanner bit the dust recently so will have to get a new one which I'll be able to soon so no scanned art for a while.Either way...hi!
